NEFL Game Three Recap NJ Spartans versus Western CT Militia

Danbury, CT – The New Jersey Spartans were dismantled by the Western Connecticut Militia this past weekend and now have moved to 0 – 3 on the season.  This was the most lopsided defeat, thus far this summer, Militia 52 – Spartans 0.

On the games opening drive, the Spartans showed early that they were no match for the Militia, by allowing a touchdown within the first four minutes of the game, and this was only the beginning. On offense the Spartans featured new quarterback Razhon Hester,  who offered nothing for the Militia defense and quickly turned the ball over. On the next drive, the Militia scored on the Spartans as what seemed to be a blown coverage assignment on defense. This brought the score to 14 – 0. The Spartans offense sputtered to start at all this game and after two turnovers and a punt, the Militia were up 31 – 0 by the end of the 1st half.

In the 2nd half it was more of the same for the Spartans as their poor offensive effort led to the defense being on the field for too long of a time. The Militia added 3 more scores over the course of the game and thus the Militia won 52 – 0.

Where does this leave the Spartans’ after a rough road trip, is any one’s guess, however they will home for their next game in Belleville, NJ versus the Connecticut Gamblers of Plainfield, CT on Saturday, August 11th at 6:00pm.
