All Smiles at TCI
Coach Kevin Moss, Director of Player Personnel Dave Ginorio, Spartan Player #50 Eric Gould and new Recruit Tom Kelichner came out to the Hackensack University Medical Center facility to give out presents collected from this month’s toy drive.
“One thing we aim to do is bring happiness and joy to others, especially those in need,” says Coach Moss. “Now’s a great time for us to really give back and hopefully impart some kind of positive contribution to their life.”
Assisted by members of the Spartan Experience’s Big Green group, the team toured the facility to present gifts to the children in person. The staff at Hackensack expressed their gratitude to the Spartan organization for supporting a good cause.
“A lot of what we need and what we use is always donated,” says Child Life Specialist, Meghan Hartley. “Charity is very important, especially when kids are in the hospital during the holiday season. They need more.”
According to the Tomorrows Children’s Fund Project Coordinator, Susan Guarino, the facility serves a few hundred children every year. December is a busy month at the institute, but the need for volunteers and donations never ends.
“January through November—nobody comes to see the kids,” says Guarino. “I ask any group that would like to come up to please call me and make an appointment.”
